Fr. Daniel's Letter to his Parishioners

 

Dear Parishioners,

Pope Francis declared this year, the Year of St. Joseph.   In order to mark the occasion of the Feast of St. Joseph on March 19, the priests in the area will pray a novena leading up to the feast day.  It will be live streamed as a way to get as many people as possible to join us in the novena.  You will find the links on the home page of our website and on our parish app.  We have a link available for you to download the prayer aid.  Please consider joining us at 8:00 PM each night from March 11 to March 19 and pray with the priests in this vicariate. 

It is always a tradition that Catholics go to the Sacrament of Confession during Lent.  Given that we are hearing confessions Monday through Thursday and for 3 hours on Saturday, we are hoping that everyone who wants to go will not all appear on the last week before Holy Week.  Please consider going to confession early in Lent so that you do not have to wait long in line and then confess how angry you were having to wait so long in line.  We really are trying to offer a lot of chances to go to the Sacrament for Lent.  At Holy Family, we are hearing them in both sacristies to help accommodate your schedule.

Finally, we are looking at opening the Holy Trinity office for a few hours a week to start with to help people in Lisbon Falls who want to do business with the parish locally.  It will be staffed by volunteers who will be trained in certain office work on Wednesdays.  Our goal is to allow parishioners many options to interact with the parish.  It may take some time to get into full swing but know we are moving in that direction.

  Dear Parishioners, Lent is now over, and it is time to celebrate Easter.   Even with restrictions in place, it was amazing to see so many people continued to make Lent a time of deepening prayer and spirituality.   Now that these forty days are completed, we look forward to the next 50 days of Easter to celebrate and rejoice.   As we see signs of relief from the pandemic, of warmer weather and of spring, it is a bit easier to celebrate the new life that Christ brought us in Easter.   Many people have carried heavy crosses this last year.   Hopefully Easter is a time of great resurrections for them and for all of us.   In some ways, it will never be like it was before the great shutdown last March, but that is not all bad if we come through this year long experience stronger and wiser.   That is certainly my prayer. Prince of Peace has a new Coordinator of Youth / College Ministry

  Prince of Peace would like to announce that it has a new Coordinator of Youth and College Ministry. Gabriel Jacques will be the primary facilitator of our Youth Ministry program geared to teens grade 6 – 12 as well as the facilitator of College Ministry at Bates College here in Lewiston. He will be planning the calendar for youth and college ministry sessions as well as communicating with college students, youth, and their families to help them grow their relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. Please welcome Gabriel as he begins his new position!
