Prince of Peace Hour of Power

 

Make a good start to Lent! Come encounter the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament at the Hour of Power, this Friday, February 19 at 6:30 PM, at Holy Family Church (607 Sabattus St., Lewiston). 

  • POP parishioner Janet Viere will share her experience of entering the desert of Lent in a witness talk. 
  • Fr. Patrick Finn will then expose the Blessed Sacrament and offer a brief homily, which will lead to a time of sung praise and worship. 
  • After this, there will be a time to listen to the Lord in a sustained time of silence, before we conclude the evening with the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Fr. Daniel's Letter to the Parishioners

  Dear Parishioners,   As we approach the holy celebration of the Nativity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, many of us will be experiencing it in a very different way.   Certainly, the crowds of people who come to the Sacred Mass will not happen this year due to the limited number allowed.   However, we are hoping that the reception of Holy Communion during the scheduled hours will help connect many people to Christ’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament.   For those who are not comfortable staying for the period of time inside the building, we invite you to come with your whole family, say a prayer in the Church and prepare for Holy Communion, receive Communion and pray a prayer of Thanksgiving and return home.   This would only take a few minutes and you will have marked the Holy Night and Day with a Sacred Action.   Please let me know if you have any questions about the process as you consult the times and places where Holy Communion will be distributed. ...

Young Boy becoming will be Beatified this Saturday in Assisi

  CARLO ACUTIS WILL BE BEATIFIED 2020/10/10 -  Alleluia!  The beatification rite of Carlo Acutis will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 4:00pm in the Upper Basililca of San Francesco in Assisi. As announced by Monseñir Domenico Sorrentino, Arzobishop-Bishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino, the beatification will be a moment of joy for all the people of God. The chosen date will be close to an important anniversary in Carlo`s life; his birth to Heaven October 12, 2006. We remind you that Pope Francis, on Friday, February 21, autorized the Congregation of the Saints to promulgate the decree concerning the Miracle attributed to the intercession of Carlo Acutis.
