Fr. Daniel's Letter to the Parishioner's

Dear Parishioners,

We are now in the Advent season and there is no end in sight for this strange situation we are in.  However, I want to make sure that we all get the most out of this season given the requirements we are given to follow.  You will notice that we have taken many of the Advent activities online.  I have been a proponent of doing things virtually for a long time now because I was convinced that young families could join us after their children have settled down for bed and older people who do not like to drive at night could join us from the comforts of their living room.  It is really not a great substitute for going to Mass, but it can be very effective to communicate information.  We have a great line up for Advent and there is more to come.  Please visit our website often for up to the minute information on activities that will help you spiritually during Advent.  Do not let Covid steal your Advent!

Confessions before Christmas are very important for those who take their faith seriously.  Note that we are still offering Confessions throughout the week at Holy Family Church and two hours on the weekend.  We will not be hosting “The Light is On” this year because of the need to have wide open spaces.  However, it may mean that we have two confessors as we get closer to Christmas for the same times.  Going to Confession is a wonderful way to be spiritually prepared for the coming of Christ at Christmas.

When you are thinking of Christmas gifts, please consider giving at least one spiritual or religious gift to your children and grandchildren.  A simple crucifix, statue, bible, book or rosary make for nice gifts and they communicate the importance of faith without speaking.  Who knows how God will use what you offer to help the faith of another.

–Peace Fr. Daniel
